Tirada hoje nos jardins que rodeiam o Convento de Cristo em Tomar. Gostei do contraste entre aquela única laranja e o cinzento forte do céu.

This photo was taken today in the gardens around the Convento de Cristo - Christ Convent - in Tomar. My eyes liked the contrast between the orange and the dark grey sky.

"Tomar was founded as head-quarters of the Knights Templar in Portugal in the 12th century and contains some of the most significant Templar monuments in Europe. Tomar was especially important in the 15th century when it was a centre of Portuguese overseas expansion under Henry the Navigator, the Grand Master of the Order of Christ, successor organization to the Templars in Portugal"

Once again the sky of Aveiro. I love sunsets and when there are clouds in the sky it looks even more beautiful.
De novo o céu de Aveiro. O pôr do sol fica ainda mais belo quando há nuvens no céu!

I love to see them fly through the skies ... This photo was taken last tuesday in the beach of Costa da Caparica, that is quite near my house. There were four or five and they were jumping from the cliffs that stand in front of the sea.

Esta foto foi tirada na terça feira passada na Fonte da Telha. Eram quatro ou cinco e saltavam da arriba frente ao mar.

Don't forget to visit Tom and other sky watchers!!

Sky Watch Friday

Late in the afternoon in Aveiro, a beautiful city of the coast.
"Located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, Aveiro is an industrial city with an important seaport.
Aveiro is known in Portugal for its traditional sweets, the ovos-moles and the trouxas de ovos both made from eggs. It is sometimes called "The Portuguese Venice", because of its canals and boats that remind one of the Italian city of Venice, as the city faced similar problems when it tried to conquer the water. The city is also famous for its production of salt and for its seaweed harvest, which is used for fertiliser in the area."

Sky Watch Friday

Um símbolo / A symbol
Somewhere in the north of Portugal. I took this photo because of the contrast between the old green cross and the deep blue sky.
Algures no norte. Gostei sobretudo do contraste entre o azul do céu e o verde da velha cruz
